Re: raising for value??
why call the turn? i have 6 outs for the straight (not counting spades) and 9 spade outs. 2.1:1 odds, why shouldn't i raise??

Re: raising for value??
precisely because you don't have odds to pump the pot. you are not the favorite to win this hand. you have plenty of pot odds to call though.
when deciding to pump the pot, you must have favorable odds for the bets going in on that street. the size of the pot is irrelevant. |

Re: raising for value??
more or less. if there were enough sticking around, you have to discount your non-nut flush draw and you may find you don't have the odds to pump it. each situation is a little different.

...2.1:1 odds, why shouldn't i raise?? [/ QUOTE ] With these odds to win against a single opponent, how many big bets do you expect to win for every big bet you put into the pot? |

Re: raising for value??
When you're raising a draw for value you have to make sure to take into consideration the differences between play on the flop as opposed to the turn. Often times you can go berzerko on the flop, but must simmer down on the turn.

Gotta love the stop, go, stop, go, stop, go from UTG.
Oh yeah, raising the turn is not for value. |
