Default Re: Playing now Empire $5000 guarantee.. a couple plays

Hi Jman28,

I played in a couple of these earlier. It's kind of nice that not enough players signed up to meet the guaranteed amount, huh?

Hand #1, AKo. I strongly feel that if you're going to play this now, you should push this all the way. You raised to T3000 after UTG raised to T1200 and MP3 calls the T1200 raise? There's now T6300 in the pot if you raised it that much. No person should fold for that T1800 more as they're simply given odds (T6300:T1800). You should definitely push or fold in this spot and give them incentive to fold!

Bottom line:

1) You have fold equity. Use it! You'd rather they both fold, but if not...
2) You want one to fold and get it heads up
3) You want to see all 5 cards with AK no matter what.

Hand #2

This hand looks fine. Your stack is very big, so that is of no concern to you. You have a hand that only fears 4 other hands, and it's quite likely you have a hand that beats BB anyways. Standard call.

Thanks..

You're right. On both counts. I'm not really sure why I didn't push the AK.
