Default Luske and Williams

I love the way Luske took that kid under his wing. I just love it. Call me sentimental but he seems like a great guy.

There were a number of things that Luske did during the tourny, that if done by other people, they'd be called classless.

Luske somehow has some pass to act as loud and pull as many stunts as he wants.

Personally, I like when there are villains and heroes, old school and new, so I welcome the "unclass".

However, it seems people here with their nose in the air show their double standard when no one bats an eye at Luske's outbursts / antogonizing / etc, but cry rivers when others do the same. And Luske does it allll the time as well, when other players may only have isolated incidents.

Luske is not downright offensive. He says stuff like "You like your flush?! I still want all your chips!!!"
Matusow is like "Suck my #$%, calling with that #$#@"
Helmuth berates play and states that "if it weren't for luck, I'd win everytime"

Big difference IMO

By the way, when phil and mike bust out, they meltdown, literally crying and cursing the poker gods. Luske bows out gracefully, in an almost cartoonish "happy ending" way. Love him. Would Phil come back to coach his newfound 23 year old buddy? Yeah right

Was David Williams crying during his interview when Marcel Luske busted?

A few good points.

However, how much money did Luske walk away with compared to those other guys?

I think a few extra zero's to the paycheck would add a smile to any "losers" face.

Ummm..Phil was shown coming back to cheer on and offer support to crowd favorite Doyle Brunson...not exactly the same thing, but the same idea.

Maybe so but Luske's outbursts are usually comical (ex. "Give me the money Dammit!). He said that with a smile on his face and after saying that he improved to four outs by getting a gutshot draw. He's cheerful when he does it (I realize this could be clever editing) and doesn't seem to hurt anyones feelings. They even seem to laugh at his jokes. Phil H. just does what he does because he hates the luck factor in poker; although his claim about winning without luck is close to true.
I agree that it seems like a double standard but I just don't see the two players actions as similar.

I thought Luske was cute.

Then again, the dutch are constitutionally cute. They can't avoid it.

Yeah, some of his antics, coming from someone else, might have been obnoxious, but I never got the sense that he was doing anything but trying to make the experience fun for everyone. I thought I even heard someone at the table say that on the ESPN coverage.

And yeah, even though I knew the outcome, I was rooting for him and Williams. Just too sweet.
