Building a pot with a set by CRing turn
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (4 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, MP2 calls, SB calls, Hero calls. *I decide not to 3-bet this flop because I wanted to try to check-raise the field on the turn. I remember something from SSH about this and he said that you should pump the flop because you are so far ahead. I decided not to do that because I felt that if I re-raised on the flop then everybody would just call my turn bet. By check-raising the turn I will have gotten many more big bets. Now the question is was the play correct because UTG could be on a flush draw and be raising for a freecard. If I check to him and he checks it through I have lost alot of bets. So what do you think? Turn: (6 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, MP2 calls, SB calls, Hero raises, UTG calls, MP2 calls, SB folds. River: (13 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, UTG calls, MP2 calls. Final Pot: 16 BB Main Pot: 16 BB, between Hero, UTG and MP2. |

Re: Building a pot with a set by CRing turn
Because of the 2-flush on the board, I'd probably just pump the flop, but I really can't fault your play. You have huge equity, and the turn c/r works like a charm.

Re: Building a pot with a set by CRing turn
I would three bet the flop and still c/r the turn. If the guy has an ace he will still bet the turn putting you on a flush draw. Plus on the flop ur almost gauranteed another 3 SB. On the turn is where players tend to fold. So if u c/r the turn it might be heads up. Gets u only 2 sb.
