Default Suited connectors

I now favour the limit form of Texas hold'em but come from a NL/PL background. As such, I am unsure how to play suited connectors, especially in early position. I tend to fold all such hands worse than J10s in early position, but feel I am losing out somewhat. Could someone please clue me up as to which suited connectors are playable and when (obviously in late position with many limpers, most are playable).

your instincts are right. playing suited connectors up front, or for a raise can be a big leak. they are good hands in certain situations. these are when you have position and when you can get in cheaply.

the exception to getting in cheaply comes when you're facing a large field and you have good position. on the button, you sometimes want to raise so that when you flop a big draw, you get a lot of customers. when you're in the CO, you should be even more apt to try this, becuase it has the added potential of "stealing" the button.

also, you should play this hands more in passive games than aggressive games, so you don't have to face a raise when chasing a weak draw

Thanks for advice; this is currently my weakest area (that I know of).
