Default get a load of these stats for the Mon. night PS rebuy

played the rebuy tonight for 31 bucks total. could NOT get a hand and just sat around for hrs. waiting for one till I got the short stack...then I'd steal a couple and wait for the next one...(except when I did it twice in a row....third time I got AA and got a caller from J8 suited...LOL)

thought I didn't see many hands...but this blows me away - in a thousand player field, I finished 50th...(to an incredibly lameass mistake that I should be killed for) - and this is all I played

------------

- 5 times out of 33 while in small blind (15%)
- 11 times out of 31 while in big blind (35%)
- 7 times out of 217 in other positions (3%)
- a total of 23 times out of 281 (8%)

Pots won at showdown - 6 out of 9 (66%)
Pots won without showdown - 19

--------------
of course, that's not counting the free BB's I got - (it's amazing...repop a stealer once or twice and they just give them to you after that.) -

I was wondering how often people stole vs. you. Every time i find someone with <10 VPIP i start stealing their blind from MP or later every unraised/limped orbit.

You played a total of 23 hands, yet you managed to win 25? No wonder you finished high.

I distinctly recall two hands near the end (with blinds 4000/8000) - where they gave me teh BB for free.

that should be 25

Yes, I'm quite sure you can win a hand without seeing the flop.

I think the issue was how did I win two hands I didn't play...

and you do that by being the BB and having everyone muck to you.

I get a lot more aggressive in tourneys...esp. when I'm not dragging any pots and I get a good one...I'll go all in in a flash a couple times to grab some blinds...

not to mention my VPIP is much lower in early rounds...

for example the 50/100 up to 200/400 levels, I'm about 6 percent average. Once I get to 300/600 and beyond, I'm up to about 15 percent....and about 95 percent of those are PF raises - (on some levels, 100 percent) -

My SB...My SB I gave up 100 percent of the time (as I recall, I never had a good hand with it eithhr...)

I only folded my BB to a steal 33 percent of the time...the other 66 I either popped back or called (since the guy was all in) and in that one case, lost.. -

I was gambling a lot....but I don't think I ever had the worst hand tho...till the end.

here's the amateur's mistake I made. - SB with 67 suited...I'm dicking around and it comes to me. BB is short stacked, so I'm gonna try to get him to muck to a bet that covers him....sure enough, he folds....

but I missed seat 5 who raised 2-3 times BB - (I barely reraised it) - and he calls - I accidently came into a multiway pot thinking it was heads up.

Well, I flopped 2 diamonds, so I gotta toss my last 15% of my chips in, but didn't improve...

someone kill me for that Special Olympics move, please.

when I flopped 4 diamonds I apoligized b4 putting in the rest of my money...but it was moot, I guess.

91 bucks for 4.5 hrs of work....barely worth it.

Seems like classic card dead, short stack stats. I've had very similar stats in past events. Perhaps not that extreme, but this happens to me more often than not. Just complete survival mode protecting your precious few chips when you can't get a hand or can't get paid off when you do. You push all in on steals and win a lot without a flop to keep up with the blinds. Just waiting and waiting, can't find a hand, round after round, and what do you know, you look at the lobby and realize you're near the money.

I can't tell you how many times I've folded hand after hand and then found myself like 29 out of 30 in a 300 person event with top 27 paying by just hanging on and being patient. You think back on all the bigger stacks who should be here, but who were reckless and pissed away their chips that you've now outlasted. They're gone and you're still around to compete for that final table. Then you hope to double up a couple times and you're right in the thick of the push for the final table. Or you go out with a whimper as bubble boy, but at least you put yourself in position to money.
