My analysis of SnG vs MTT-> SnG wins
Party $30/3
Prize structure SNG: 5x/3x/2x MTT: 9x/7.5x/6x/4.5x/3x Time SnG: ~1hr to complete MTT: ~2hrs to complete Analysis MTT: For $33, you can win $270 for a profit of $237. SNG: In that same time frame (2hrs), u can spend $66 and win $300, for a profit of $234. MTT: Top 5 win $, thus 5/30 = 16.67% SNG: Top 3 win $, thus 3/10 = 30% No Hand Histories for MTT (you have to remember to manually request after every 100 hands, which is a pain). You also have much more variance in MTT. So for approx the same amount of time and $ won, SnG's offer better % ITM and lower variance. Any flaws with my analysis? |

Re: My analysis of SnG vs MTT-> SnG wins
Another difference between SnG and MTT:
When ITM, you dont have to gamble for 1st in MTT. Unlike SnG's top heavy payout, it's linear in MTT. No need to take more risks than normal. |

Any flaws with my analysis? [/ QUOTE ] Yes: [ QUOTE ] MTT: For $33, you can win $270 for a profit of $237. SNG: u can spend $66 and win $300, for a profit of $234. [/ QUOTE ] In SNGs, you need to risk twice the investment for about the same return. (The ROI for winning an MTT as outlined in our post is twice the ROI for winning the equivalent in SNGs) |

SnG are more like 50 min. 100min for 2 SnGs vs 120min with MTT. thus MTT are 1.2x longer than 2 SnGs 718% / 1.2 = ~600% 1) now does the higher variance in MTT make up for the $82.50 (250% difference in ROI on $33)??? 2) Also, remember that top 30% in SnG are ITM vs 16.67% of MTT. How does that factor into this???? |

Re: My analysis of SnG vs MTT-> SnG wins
Both formats have 10% fee and return the rest of cash.
MTT have more players / less in the money so higher variance. That's about it in your analysis. Rest depends on your style, quality of players, opportunity/desire for big wins, desire for less variance, slower structure in MTT, etc. Matter of taste |
