Default Best site to put $300 in for SNG\'s

Hey everyone:

I'm a new poster here, I've frequented thepokerforum for a short while, and I was hoping I could get some feedback to a question I posted over there a couple of weeks ago.

Based on how hard or soft the game is (i.e. fish %) combined with web interface and bonuses, what's the best site to put in a $300 bankroll for SNG's?

From what I've heard, it's close between Party and Pacific, due to their soft games and better win rates.

Also, if I have a good success rate but little experience in 5 and 10 dollar SNG play, is it better to start out at 5 or 10 with the 300 bankroll? Is the play at 10 much better than 5?

I say this because if 5 and 10 play equally tough (or easy), then some have said that I should start at 10, given the equal house rake. That said, would the bankroll be high enough to accomodate swings yet, or should I be starting at 5 period?

I'd appreciate any good feedback.

Doc

you're best bet would be to ask this in the "1-table Tournaments" message board.

I'd play the Party $10 SnGs the play is equally bad as the $5. The software at Pacific is very poor, as are the players, but I'd choose Party.

I'd agree... the Party $10's aren't that much harder than the 5's (anyone who tells you the skill levels are the same is just lying or misinformed), and you're paying a lower % to the house. As far as a bankroll guide, I've heard 20x the buy-in as a good minimum for SnG's. So if you're below $220, you might want to switch to the $5's until you're back up.

Another advantage to Party is the multi-table SnG's, which play a lot like the one tables, but put a premium on solid play in the payout structure (more top-heavy). That said, I've also had a lot of success on Paradise Poker, so you may want to try that too.

Um, they aren't MUCH harder but there definately is a skill difference. BTW I would never play the $5 games there with a $300 bankroll, its just not worth it.

Could you elaborate on that please? You mean too little money, right?

And yes, sorry if I posted in the wrong forum. Will post correct next time, heh

Well, yeah, partly. Basically:

- A $300 bankroll is easily a large enough bankroll for $10 sit n' go's, it may even be enough to run the risk at $20, if its replaceable (wouldn't recommend it though).

- I've never actually played the $5's on Party, but I've heard the difference in skill between those and the $10 games is neglible.

- At the $5 you are paying the house 20% ($1) at the $10 level you are paying the house 10% (the industry standard), this difference in rake is very considerable in the long term.

Just be willing to step down the the $5's if you get in the 175-200 range.
