Answer the Riddle.. Win a Skittle
Ok... I was talking to my friend who deals at the Horeshoe and he asked me this question.
We all know the concept "you're only going to get called if you're beat" Can anyone give me the most extreme example of this concept. I'm not talking about specific hands.. don't say something like I have x hand and I'll only get called if this. Just try and think of the "true" case where this concept applies. Player A is only going to call Player Bs bet if he's beating him. How can this situation occur in the most true sense. I don't think the question is hard.. because I answered it after a couple minutes. But it was interesting to me nonetheless. |

Re: Answer the Riddle.. Win a Skittle
Bingo.
Ok... so here's what happened at the Shoe. As far as I can remember. 2/4 NL Horseshoe Player A raises preflop.. probably to about 16. Player B calls. I think there was a player C.. but I can't remember when he dropped out of the hand. Flop: rag rag rag check check Turn: rag Player A checks.. Player B (QQ) says "I guess my cards are good and bets the pot. Player A shows (KK) and says "probalby not" and calls. River: Q Player A pushes in the rest of his stack!!! Player B: "Well.. I know your cards.. call" |

Re: Answer the Riddle.. Win a Skittle
Wouldn't B call here without knowing A's cards?

Re: Answer the Riddle.. Win a Skittle
Possibly.. but.. the point is that A put himself in THE situation where he is ONLY going to be called if he is beat. And he pushes his entire stack in this situation.
Who knows how it would go down if he didn't show. But he did.. then he pushed his stack. |
