Default Mirage 10/20 - chance for a great river laydown

Good game, average of four or five to the flop, raised about 50% preflop.

Unknown player open limps UTG, I limp UTG+3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], calling station limps in the CO, weak/tight button raises, unknown BB calls, all three limpers call.

Five to the flop for 10 SB's.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

UTG bets, I call, CO calls, button raises, BB folds, UTG calls, I call, CO calls.

Four to the turn for 9 BB's.

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

UTG checks, I bet, button folds, BB folds, UTG raises, I call.

Two to the river for 13 BB's.

River: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

UTG bets, I call. Should I have saved a big bet here?

You had a clear check-fold on the turn. Didn't you see the flush??

Certainly should have saved the river bet. Especially because the top card on board was not of the flush suit, you should probably fold the turn against a decent player. Too much of the time he could be there with KQs ATs or something like that.

Actually, Clark, I'd fold the flop here. The opponent has Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and is freerolling against Hero.

Making great river laydowns is the hallmark of all top players in the Mirage 10/20 game. It's a part of my game that needs a lot of work.

He had K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and MHWG.

I briefly thought about folding the river, but then I pictured Ed Miller and Clarkmeister glaring at me with their arms crossed, and I decided to call.

I like check fold the turn here too.
If I am ahead - there are most likely plenty of ways my opoonet can outdraw me on the river. If I am against a flush im drawing dead. Also potato, where do you come up with the read that one of his opponets has QT of hearts? Maybe you were joking - but it seems like a silly post seeing as you cannot reach that conclusion with any certainty...
