it ended well but was it the right play?
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (3 handed) converter
Hero (t3380) Button (t1290) SB (t3330) Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (t200) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets t100, Hero raises to t200, SB calls t100. whoohoo, SF draw. but really, i think i should have raised more. my plan was to move all in on the turn if i didn't get there anyway Turn: (t600) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets t3080 (All-In), SB calls t3030 (All-In). ok, there i go. hmm. he's called. well, i'm a 2-1 underdog to K and less to an 8 6 or 2 River: (t6710) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 2 all-in) all appears to be moot now. Final Pot: t6710 Main Pot: t6660 (t6660), between Hero and SB. > Pot won by Hero (t6660). Pot 2: t50 (t50), returned to Hero. Results in white below: Hero shows 7h 9h (straight, nine high). SB shows 3s Kh (one pair, kings). Outcome: Hero wins t6710. it's not a play i make very much but i like the all in semibluff in it's time and place. what do you think? |

[/ QUOTE ] You got a monster flop. Bet this for value - I'd got for T300-400. Why was your plan to move all-in on the turn regardless? You've got a great hand, you've got great position. But you're still drawing. On the turn, you miss. You've still got a lot of outs but there's only one card to come. Why massively over-bet the pot? If you get called, you're a dog. A bet of 600 would have done the same job but not risked all your chips. |
