pocket pairs OOP
I'm havin real trouble with pocket pair OOP, can anyone offer any help or links? A common situation is I raise with say 99, get cold called, flop A82 rainbow, I bet, he calls, now what? I know it's player dependant and how loose they are. Is c/f the turn the typical line here?

I would switch it up with bet/fold and check/fold on the turn. You are right it really is player dependent. This decision would be so much easier if you had the AA. |

wow, ok definitely meant a flop of A82 [/ QUOTE ] Read the hand quizzes where you have pairs higher than middle pairs. my line is to bet/fold the turn (unless of course you catch middle set ). now the river play is very interesting. you need to value bet alot of river cards against call stations since you will call a bet and can easily fold to a raise. if you are against aggressive types you can check/call the river to induce a bluff. Folding HU by automatically giving your opponent credit for the ace is bad. they are peeling with many many hands that you are beating. |
