whats the RULE here!
OK, heres the deal.
In a tie between two poeple with a pair, one each in hand, one on the board. Ho in the hell can I have played two games and had two different outcaomes, unless I read the table wrong. How is a kicker used. if there's and ACE on the board??||Sample. 2 players. A)Q7 B)QK On the table is 9, 8, Q, J, A. Who wins and WHY, or tie?? THOUGHT AN ace IS THE HIGHES CARD AND MAKES IT A TIE. A)Q7 B)QJ Q,3,9,5,A Again same question. I had an argument with My brother, and then the next week another gentleman about when is it a tie, and when some ones pocket kicker break this type of tie. Please get me info on a ruling, and a explination on breaking a dam ONE PAIR tie!! tonihgt I want to go to my game with the RIGHT information. So a link too would help, I can't find one. Thanks Pat going to post in a few places |

Re: whats the RULE here!
But a pair has 3 kickers, doesn't it. You look at all of them.

Re: whats the RULE here!
In HE Poker you use the five best cards to make your hand.
A)Q7 B)QK On the table is 9, 8, Q, J, A. A) Hand is 9, Q, Q, J, A B) Hand is K, Q, Q, J, A -- winner A)Q7 B)QJ On the table is Q,3,9,5,A A) Hand is Q, 7, 9, 5, A B) Hand is Q, J, 9, 5, A -- winner There you have it. |

Re: whats the RULE here!
Keep in mind that it's the best 5 CARD hand. If the top card ties, you go to the next, then the next, then the next. In your examples QJ wins the first and QK wins the second.
As an example for a tie, lets say: Player 1: A 3 Player 2: A 4 Board: A 9 8 7 6 Then its a tie - best 5 card hand is 1 pair (Aces) 9 8 7. If either player's other pocket card was higher than a 7, then that player would win. Player 1: A K Player 2: A 4 Board: A 9 8 7 6 Player 1 wins with A A K 9 8 over Player 2 with A A 9 8 7. |
