Default KK in rebuy period

$11 rebuy turbo supersatellite for $215 tournament. I think my play was pretty standard. Should I have played it differently, preflop or on the flop, to extract more?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (9 handed) converter

UTG+1 (t940)
MP1 (t1475)
MP2 (t2355)
Hero (t1840)
CO (t1975)
Button (t1750)
SB (t1425)
BB (t1500)
UTG (t940)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls t50, 3 folds, Hero raises to t200, 2 folds, SB calls t175, BB calls t150, UTG folds.

Flop: (t650) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)

Looks pretty standard to me. Tha last thing I wanna do in that spot is give someone a free draw to an ace or something

Cant see anything wrong with the line. Such is life, dissapointing at times when a good hand lands. Wouldnt want to let any draws in cheap.
What I might do sometimes dependent on the read is go all inn, occasionally u meet the type that dont mind taking long shots, and it looks abit like AK. So A-Q,9, x-Q,9 might call, even bottompair will sometimes take a shot and any pocket could be enticed by the hope of doubling up, and u want to charge str8 draws anyway.

If BB had anything worth calling with then your T300 raise wouldn't have made him fold. You got everything you could out of that one, unfortunately. Better to raise him and get him to fold than to call and give BB another card to beat you with his Qx, 6x or 9x hand.

Seems all good to me. No need to let them have a cheap shot at an ace or a second pair here. BB is probably sitting with a 6 or 9 and testing the market.

Depending on the table structure, maybe push preflop?

Yeah, pushing preflop seems good actually. You almost always get one caller with a weak ace or a pair.

Pretty much depends on the characteristics of the table and your table image. These turbo rebuys tend to get pretty wild, but of course there are exceptions.

Now, if this has been a "sensible" table so far and your image is that of a tight agrressive player you probably played it the only possible way.

But, if there have been a few un-warranted all-ins already - or if I have made some loose calls and folded to flop bets - I might apply a different approach. Putting in a bigger PF representing an attempt to shut out other players with a low to medium pair, and deliberately over-raising the flop to t1,300 (the remaining stack of the BB).

It's all in the table dynamics, but under the right conditions (which IME occur quite frequently, especially as we approach the final Sunday 2:30 PM super) this is a profitable approach. Should they fold this play has the added advantage of increasing the likelyhood that you'll be paid of next time you move in with a decent hand.

Best,

McMelchior (Johan)
