please read if you played in ub\'s money added tournaments this weekend
I complained to ub about deceptive advertising on there money added tournaments. They had a bunch of these tournaments the one I complained about had a $1500 guarantee and $2,000 added and was $11 omaha 8. They had 244 players which means the prize pool should have been $4,400 but they only paid the quarantee plus $2,000 or $3,500 that to me is a $3,500 guarantee tournament not a money added tournament. WELL THEY FINALLY AGREED AND CREDITED ME THE ADDITIONAL MONEY AND SAID THEY HAD CORRECTED IT FOR THAT TOURNAMENT . SO I AM HOPING THIS HAPPENED FOR ANYONE IN THESE TOURNAMENTS PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS CHANGE AND LET ME KNOW IF ADDITIONAL MONIES HAVE BEEN CREDITED OTHERWISE UB IS OUT IN MY BOOK.

Re: please read if you played in ub\'s money added tournaments this wee
okay looks like I got the official email from paradise which I assume went out to all players, geez I wonder if my inquiry made them see there mistake. here is the official email which came a few hours from the email they sent me apologizing for the mistake in response to my complaint.
Hello, We would like to take a moment to apologize for the confusion caused by our Player Appreciation Weekend’s “Money Added Tournaments”. These tournaments were of course intended to add $1,000 ($5+.50 buy-in) and $2,000 ($10+1 buy-in) to the Guaranteed prize pool. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, your account was not properly credited by the system, we were able to quickly identified the error and are in the process of crediting accounts manually. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding, please let us know if you have any questions. Regards, |

Re: please read if you played in ub\'s money added tournaments this wee
Was is it that for the past 2+ years UB has seemed to be completely unprepared to successfully implement THEIR OWN promotions?
It very much seems like they have just one promotional person somewhere completely remote (like Neptune perhaps) coming up with their promotional ideas and sending out e-mails about them to all the players.....but allthewhile making absolutely CERTAIN that nobody else at UB knows anything about them. |

Bob the stupidity is unbelievable take a look at my email and there response it was ridiculous but at least they owned up to there mistake and made good.
com Dear victor, I am very sorry for the misunderstood, I did not read very well your first email. You are right the tournament only paid $3500 and it should have paid $4400, however our Tournament Department has fixed the problem, and distributed the $900 remaining. We have credited in your account the amount of $7.70 for a total of $30.45 If you need further assistance please let us know. Best Regards, Fabian Cardroom Management Department --Original Message-- From: vnasch@yahoo.com Date: 08/28/05 To: memberservices@ultimatebet.com Subject: RE:Customer Support Form Submission [#1642690] that is correct. you said 1500 guaranteed and 2,000 added. then on the tournament page it said 1500 guaranteed plus 2,000 added to the quarantee. I think it should have said 3500 guarantee that would have been more accurate. I just looked at the other tournaments and in fact many had no money added because they made there guarantee and none had the maximum added. I have played on line for years and you make my point by your reply. A quarantee is one thing and money added is another. Money added implies that it will be added to the total prize pool not to the guarantee. please reply thank you --- memberservices@ultimatebet.com wrote: > > Dear victor , > > When you say that it is a $3.500 guaranteed, it > means that $3.500 will be the minimum pay out. > Probably you did not know this, but this how all the > guaranteed tournaments work in all the poker rooms > in the world. > > If you need further assistance please let us know. > > Best Regards, > > Fabian > Cardroom Management Department > > --Original Message-- > From: vnasch@yahoo.com > Date: 08/27/05 > To: memberservices@ultimatebet.com > Subject: Customer Support Form Submission[#1642690] > > > Customer Information > Account Name : naschburger2 > Real Name : victor nasch > Comments : Hi, I am currently playing in tournament > 75741 which is omaha 8 with 1500 guarantee and > $2,000 added with a $6 buy in. Yes even though UB has screwed up in the past (S&G madness), they have always come through and corrected things. Re: please read if you played in ub\'s money added tournaments this wee
they most certainly have NOT always come through and corrected things.
their re-buy tournaments and/or add-ons get completely screwed-up sometimes. i did NOT get all of the bonus-money I was due in the SNG-madness thing in July, 2004. Despite 5 e-mails that were incredibly easy to understand they still didn't get it. I played an Aruba qualifier just last week where everyone who took the add-on only got 1 extra-chip. Players got refunded their add-on's eventually but I don't think that is acceptable. Their tourney-software seems really sucky. Why would these kind of screw-ups be happening in the first place? |

[/ QUOTE ] This makes me glad I don't read the promotional e-mails from UB. I was afraid I might be missing out on something, but now I see I'm safe. By the way, you've just perfectly described the behavior of my department's marketing manager, except he is only mentally on Neptune (he's physically 5 feet away). He is currently ignoring an e-mail from me that basically says "your draft marketing copy says customers will get X, Y, and Z -- this isn't true -- they will only get X and Z, if they want Y, they have to pay extra for it". I'm pretty sure he is ignoring my e-mail because that is less work than changing his marketing copy. I suppose this is why the marketing department gets reorganized more often than any other group in the company... |

Re: please read if you played in ub\'s money added tournaments this weekend
I have only had small issues with UB, and they have always cleared them up to my satisfaction in a reasonable amount of time.
The best one was when I first started playing, I had some garbage hand in the BB after the river card came, I think I had like 5-high or something. I'm not exactly sure how it happened (it was a while ago), either I was about to click check, or in another window and the UB window popped up in my way, but either way I inadvertantly called an all-in with absolutely no piece of the board. I wrote an email to UB complaining about it, and they credited my account the amount I lost in that hand (it was ~$30). I thought this was really cool of them, I probably would have told myself to screw if I were them. Another good one, but not so much a support issue, was a couple months ago when they had a 6-seated $30+$3 tourney, $2500 guaranteed. Due to some glitch, only 9 people entered, and I was lucky enough to get in. Talk about overlay! I took 3rd, they promptly paid me my $550, and I never heard another thing about it. All in all, I have been very happy with UB. It is my favorite site to play - they have the nicest and smoothest interface, IMO. |

Re: please read if you played in ub\'s money added tournaments this wee
Bob I agree with you that these problems although mostly resolved are the type that I rarely see on any other site and I have played on 30-40 different internet sites. I rarely play on ultimate bet anymore because the bonus is a joke for small limit players and I have run into either deceptive advertising or outright stupidity. They say that shorting us in the money added tournaments was a technical problem. No, it was either a cheap crooked deception or it was complete stupidity.
