Stars $10 multi. 130 of 450 left, 50 or so positions pay. I've got 9K chips, above average and in about 35th place. Guy to my left has been going all-in every fourth or fifth hand for the last few orbits. He has about 5K chips and has been called only once. He held KTo at the time. Everyone folds to Mr. All-In, who goes all-in.
What's my move? |

Call, in a heartbeat. Most likely has Ax, and you're a 2 to 1 favorite if his x is lower than 10 (I think that's correct.)

If he's to your left and everyone folded to him, how could you be in the hand? (Don't mean to nitpick).
I'm guessing you raised and he re-raised all-in right? I personally prefer to crack these types after the flop as they will often make the move if it's checked to them, but given your chip position, I probably would have gone for it too - hate to see all those juicy chips thrown off to someone else! Trying to get better a hand at a time. Peace, Ritter |

Oops. He was to my right. I can play a mean game of poker and am a fairly good shrink, but I can't tell left from right.

Umm, how can you crack him after the flop if he's already moved all-in preflop? You'll never have that opportunity.
Given the frequency with which he's moving all-in, I think TT is enough to call him. You'll be in a coin toss much of the time, maybe 50-80% of the time. However, when it's not a coin toss, you will be the 2:1-5:1 favorite much more often than not. Overall, you likely have a 10-20% edge here. If you're finding it really easy to accummulate chips, because everybody else is easy to outplay, then pass on this opportunity. Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan) |
