Pokerstars 10 +1
UTG (3,250) Button (3,100) SB Hero (3,200) BB (4,250) Blinds 200/400 50 ante. We'd been blind battling for over two levels. I was the most aggressive. Table had finally turned to all-ins, after I lead the way (I pushed 2 hands ago, next hand big stack pushed). Action: UTG: Raise (800). UTG had proven to be very passive pre-flop. I wasn't surprised he didn't go all in. This is common on low buy-in PokerStars SNGs. Button: Fold Hero (44)? If it matters, I did not expect the BB to call UTGs raise without a good hand. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not be beat a dead horse, but yeah, fold. There is so much more equity available in open pushing in the right spots in this situation (4 even stacks) that cards are really not mattering as much...I'm gonna resteal only with big hands or when I feel someone has been overly agressive and will laydown if I have I have been recently quiet. Im not calling any hands for value especially not 44. why push and be dominated or in a flip? He'll have decent odds to call.. |

Thanks. That's what I thought. I just needed the affirmation of my peers. The bubble had lasted so long I was beginning to get ancy.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I just needed the affirmation of my peers. The bubble had lasted so long I was beginning to get antsy. [/ QUOTE ] To me, this is one of the biggest mistakes people make on the bubble, feeling that they have to make a move just because. Wait for the other guys to make a mistake, like moving all-in over a UTG raise with their 44. You have enough chips to wait for a better opportunity. |

When you say passive preflop, do you mean he he's min-raising when he should be pushing, or do you mean he's barely raising at all? If it's the former, I think you may have a lot of fold equity here, and pushing might be right. If it's the latter it's definitely a fold. I tend to see the min-raiser crowd fold a lot when you come over the top when their stack is healthy -- without a read I might push here.
