Try this Bar Bet
A local baseball reporter got me on this one a few years ago and I regularly follow how this would work.
I bet you that on any given MLB game or slate of games for the night (NL or AL say, or all of the days games) that the winning team will score more runs in one inning than the losing team does in the whole game. So, if the final score is 6-4 then for me to win the winning team would have to score at least 5 runs in one inning. A shutout obviously goes to me. It's surprising how it works out though I suppose some of the stat kings have the exact numbers. |

Re: Try this Bar Bet
What do you think think the chances of this happening are? I calculated it for yesterday's games, and it was true in 8/15 games.

Re: Try this Bar Bet
Which is why small ball (playing for one run) is often a bad strategy.

Re: Try this Bar Bet
This would translate into a good football bet.
If you had good info on the proper odds of the favorite team scoring more pts. in a quarter (or half) than the underdog in the whole game, you could often easily get action on the other side. |

Re: Try this Bar Bet
Yeah, since I posted it's been 8/15 Monday, 8/15 Tuesday and 5/13 yesterday.

Re: Try this Bar Bet
Yeah, it hard to qualify it as a great bar bet if it's only at 50%.

Re: Try this Bar Bet
Yeah, but I get odds over more than one game.
