Default Odd question...

Ok this is probably not the calibre of question you guys are used to answering, but whenever I watch something like the WPT (and occasionally in real life) I hear 3's called "treys". Can someone please tell me why they are called treys? Like what is the story behind that...for all I know it's latin! Anyway, for some reason it bothers me and I think about why everytime I see a 3 in a game, lol.

Thanks

Good guess with the Latin.

And not a bad question at all -- it led me to find and correct an omission in Wikipedia
