Did I play this hand ok?
Was this a good raise, or maybe should I have pushed? What do you think? (This is final table of a 3 table SnG)

Re: Did I play this hand ok?
Don't like the 9xBB preflop raise at all. Why do people insist on doing this? Get a standard raise preflop when you are opening, and do it every time, give or take. (unless shortstacked). Between 3xBB and 4xBB is the best. So, raise 3xBB here, then call the SB when he puts himself all in. Pretty standard stuff here.

Re: Did I play this hand ok?
You never mention the SB calling, although it is implied, it's missing from the HH. I see nothing wrong with how you played it. You have plenty of chips and a hand that is probably the best, but can be scary to play with overcards.
You leave yourself enough that if the button comes over the top, you can still get away, but either of the blinds have to go all in to call. I don't think you'd be posting this if you didn't get outdrawn. You got into a race situation pre-flop against a shortstack when you had over 4x his chips. Also, with 300 in the blinds, you don't really mind just taking those down either. |

You can't raise 9XBB. You can't raise 9XBB. You can't raise 9XBB.

Re: Did I play this hand ok?
Thanks for the FB. Th thought on my bet size, is that it would have put the blinds all in if they wanted to call, and I might have been able to steel the blinds.
Wound up placing 4th. |

Re: Did I play this hand ok?
You would accomplish the same with a 3-4x BB bet. w/ blinds @ 200 and the villian having only ~1200, calling 600-800 more commits them to the hand anyway.
