Weird Spot
Chip stacks are very important here, so don't ignore them.
Blinds 150/300 in bodog $7.50. UTG + 1 limps leaving himself only t1200 behind. EP1 pushes for t1600 Hero is SB with KK and t7k. Note: BB has t2k after posting. What's the correct play and why? |

Re: Weird Spot
i personally like to smoothcall here, and hope someone else gets involved. If you push, your showing strength, and to a $7 player, you smooth calling doesn't mean that much, and you might get utg to join the fun

Re: Weird Spot
I would smoothcall, but minraising seems fine too. There's already a push of 1600, so I can't imagine a smoothcall or a push from you elicits a different reaction since it's a 400 chip difference. If I think they're thinking at all, I probably push to make it look slightly weaker but I really don't think it matters.

Re: Weird Spot
Am I missing something or is this an incredibly easy push? You have one limper with only 1200 behind who very likely will call your push. You have a BB who is also shortstacked who will push hands that he would call your push with. The only thing that calling does is give the BB a look at a free flop.

Re: Weird Spot
I don't get the question. If you call or push it makes very little difference to any of the other players and won't affect their decisions. They are all pot commited if they call the EP1 push so you might as well raise.
Edit to say: being a $7 torunament the BB may not realise this and be less inclined to call an all in before the flop thinking they can get away post flop. In which case call. He 'may' fold post flop. |

Re: Weird Spot
I think this is a push too for the reasons mentioned. If some of the other player had an intention of calling the all in they would push themselves so a raise from you will be called if they had that intention. I don't know how good the players on your table was but a flat call seems more dangerous to me than a push from you. A push tells me you have a nice hand but that is somewhat dangerous for you (99-QQ, AQ+) and you want it to go heads up. I would push time trying to seem "weaker"
