Default Ace high in position heads up on the turn

Villain is 45/17. It seems like he checkraises the turn EVERY hand heads up, but I have only had enough to call him down once and he had top pair. An opponent like this presents a real dilemma for me on the turn and I gather that they are more prevalent at 10/20. I feel like if I actually had balls I would just go ahead and bet the turn and then call him down when he raises. But I would feel like a moron paying three big bets to showdown when I could have paid one. On the other hand I hate to reward his willingness to checkraise every hand by not betting.

PREFLOP:
Hero open raises UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Only the BB calls.

FLOP: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

TURN: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
BB checks, Hero checks.

RIVER:J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
BB bets, Hero calls.

Would you have played this differently?

Would your answer change if the turn card had been 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]?

What about 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]?

What about Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]?

Thanks,

if villain is check-raising the turn a lot without a pair, then yes, I would check behind on the given board. if the villain tends to bluff bet the river (based on your turn weakness) then I would check behind on the turn with A high a lot.

if the turn had been the 6 of clubs or the Q of clubs, I would bet the turn, and call if check-raised in either, and probably calling down UI.

You made it pretty clear that he c/r EVERY turn card. So it doesn't really matter what the card is if it doesn't improve your hand.

Against this opponent you want to show down cheap if you don't improve. You played it fine (imo) and you should play it the same with the other turn cards that you suggested.

You can exploit these type of players by getting extra bets from them when you do have a hand on the turn; let them do their thing and 3bet. But you have to be careful not to get cute when you don't have a hand by betting a scare card on the turn.
