Big Hand late in tournament- Call or Fold
STT down to 4 players.
Hero (Button) 8,000 SB 3,200 BB 4,500 EP 4,000 Blinds are 200/400 when the following hand occurs. Hero raises 1,200 on the button first in with KQs. SB pushes all in for 3,200 (additional 2,000) BB folds, back to hero to decide. Your getting about 2.6 to 1 pot odds and the SB is someone you've played with often and have a decent read on. SB is most likely pushing with Ax or Medium pair. Reasons for calling: -If BB has Ax or PP (which your sure he has) your getting good pot odds. (+EV) -Winning this pot will give you huge nearly unbeatable stack. -If you lose you'll still have a decent stack. Reason's for folding: -If SB has AK, AQ, AA, KK or QQ your dead and definately not getting the right price. (-ev) -Your risking about 30% of your remaining stack (2000/6800) -All 4 players will be close in chips and the SB will actually become the chip leader. thoughts? |

Re: Big Hand late in tournament- Call or Fold
I just posted one like this in the Holdem General forum. If I were as confident in my read as you say you were, I would call as it's not going to break my stack.
PS- where in CT are you from? |

Re: Big Hand late in tournament- Call or Fold
[ QUOTE ]
This is a no-brainer call. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. I'd call as one of the easiest decisions in the tounrey. (except folding 73o under the gun...and that other hand when the nut-peddler pushed all-in against my bet when I was playing the board...) As for your other question...I would call this easily with no reads. You will be in good shape FAR more often than not. Against a tight player with a great read...I **MIGHT** fold. |
