PLO8 - Checkraise bluff?
UTG is weak, limps A5xx, will insta-push any nut low HU but will fold a nut low draw where he is drawing dead for high (say on a three-flush board as shown below). Weak bets have equalled weak hands.
Pot-limit Omaha Hi/Lo $10+$1 (real money) Seat 9: Hero [4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] ($1,270 in chips) Seat 10: UTG ($1,085 in chips) PRE-FLOP UTG limps, 7 folds, Hero checks. FLOP [board cards 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img],3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ] Hero checks, UTG bets $50, Hero raises to $250, UTG folds. |

Re: PLO8 - Checkraise bluff?
It's not a bluff when you bet the best hand. A pair of fives was good.
No poker content here, a naked ace is a pretty standard bluff. |

Re: PLO8 - Checkraise bluff?
First of all, you should specify whether this is a tourney or a cash game. It makes a huge difference in some cases (although this isn't really one of them).
This play depends abotu 80% on whether you think your opponent is capable of folding a smaller flush/naked low draw in this spot, and 20% on whether you think your low draw is ahead for the low. In general, I would lean towards making this play when in doubt since you have a backdoor low. |
