Default Reraising with 99 preflop okay in EP3?

The Villain is 37/18 and directly to my right.

1 limp, Villain raises, Hero reraises?, folded to limper who calls, Villain caps, Hero calls, limper calls

A 9 comes on the flop and it all works out for me, but is this isolation reraise preflop okay?

Against an 18% pfr I think failing to reraise and isolate here would actually be missing considerable value.

So yes, I like this.

If you replace "ok" with "mandatory", then yes. Actually, you should consider 3-betting this hand against somewhat less maniacal players too (but generally ones that are still quite aggressive).

Thanks for the responses. I thought I was taking a chance on this one...so I definitely need to learn to play the mid pairs a bit more aggresively in the right spots!

Just to expand, I'm 3-betting 99 here against anyone with average preflop aggression or higher (call it 8%). I would much rather get into a coinflip situation, with position, in a heads up pot than coldcall and hope to hit a set in a multiway pot. And I don't want to fold 99.
