Default top pair on a monotone board on a \"steal\"

Stars $55. Almost 2 hours in, blinds are 100/200.

My stack is 6500 and I'm doing well. Villian in the BB has 10k and is about 10th place.

I raise in MP3 w/ AQo to 600. Villian calls.

Not much of a read on him. Last hand he limped UTG and I raised to 4xbb w/ AK and he folded.

He calls and the flop is A T 6, all hearts. I don't have the Q of hearts.

He bets out 800. What the hell do I do?

I hate these spots but I would call and see what he does on turn. this might be the wrong line because you arent gaining much info but raising this flop will be very costly

I'd just call.. hoping to freeze his action. Any meaningful raise is 1/3 of hero's stack... and as a firm believer in retaining leverage, Id prefer not to put that much into the pot too soon.

see if the call slows him down, and re-evaluate on the turn.

(if he has a naked heart.. he will be a lot less willing to get it all in on the turn rather then the flop, so if you are going to move on the pot.. a safe turn card seems the most viable)

Just a quick bump if any has any more advice.. What if I call the turn and he bets out 2/3rds the pot?

I butchered this hand in reality. Sometimes when I'm lost all I can do is raise and it really killed me.. this is a hand I'm destined to lose a lot of chips on right?

if he flopped the flush yes, you'll lose a lot of money here

call the flop bet, go over the top on a non-king, non-heart turn card

his betting SCREAMS lone heart or qj/qt - he probably check-raises flush
