Default So I\'m in the Orlando Airport last week...

...and I stop in the airport newsstant to get a pick of gum. In my opinion, gum is a necessaity for flying because 1) it alleviates the ear pressure problem at ascent/descent; 2) it helps with the cotton mouth from that nasty recycled airplane air. I wander around the little newsstand for like 10 minutes befor ei finally ask, "where's the gum?" The girl says it's against airport policy Apparently people kept spitting their gum on the airport carpets. Who the hell does this? Of all the problems in airports, this is the one they choose to deal with?

Yea. It was a plane change there, and I had no idea I wouldn't be able to get it. Had I realized this would be a problem, I would have done that. It's still stupid.

Consider it's the Orlando airport, with possibly the nation's highest concentration of <strike>brats</strike> children.

FWIW,

I have been in many casino's that don't sell gum for the same reason, plus they don't like it sticking in the ashtrays.
