Default Folded to me in SB. Raise J8o Correct? (1/2)

Party 1/2 Hold'em (8 handed)

BB's first hand. Is this a good raising hand?

Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Not really. It all depends on the BB, if hes weak/tight and either folds his BB alot or folds alot of flops then i will almots raise any 2.

If hes loose in the BB or aggresive i fold this.

Raise all day. Your hand is better vs a random hand. That, coupled with your folding equity, and ability to outplay postflop makes this an easy raise.

I don`t agree. Against some opponents it`s better to complete and bet any flop.

So whats wrong with raising PF and making a continuation bet on "any flop"

i usually don't but against a passive that will complete regardless but won't raise, i would think our hand is strong enough to play but not strong enough to be putting in that many bets.
