Default The Forward Motion Rule

This is probably the worst rule in the card room and in my observation has spawned much more angle shooting than we had before the rule became popular. Ostensibly the rule came into effect to stop the juke masters from eliciting information. The real effect has been to give Nits and the juke masters for ammo for angle shooting by claiming that a forward motion has been made.

This rule also SUCKS for for good players as it eliminates many tells that weaker players might otherwise reveal.

It is insanely easy to combat the "fake bet" angle shooters, and you get so much info when people try this, that the forward motion rule should be eliminated entirely. The extremely simple solution is to act when it's your turn to act AND NOT A SECOND BEFORE!

Wow, they should use that rule in Vegas. Only act when it's your turn, not someone elses. Good idea!

btw, Foxwoods sucks, haven't people gotten the hint yet?

Forward motion works well if the floor staff is familiar with how poker is played. The floor needs to rule based on what is fair and equitable rather than trying to figure out some rule from a book to apply. The best floormen are not at all afraid to rule in fairness to keep the would be angle shooters (rule nits generally fall in this category) from cheating and causing arguments.
