Default FT sweat - party $50+5 MTT

Party $50+5 MTT, #510701. 430 entrants, entered the final table as second in chips... AA first hand to double up to the chiplead.

Short running log of key hands posted on my blog (performify.com) of what got me here... i've been keeping some other notes, will try to do a more in-depth writeup after the fact.

"performify" on AIM, "jedinite_m3" on yahoo. ICQ in profile...

Yeah, that was the game. For those not following along, I had a split pair of eights and got all the money in the middle (having him covered) as a 91%-9% favorite against a pocket pair of sixes. Would have been the game, except he caught a six on the river. He caught another suckout on the river a few hands later which really crippled me and it was pretty much downhill from there.

Still a nice second place finish. Thanks for the sweat...

Probably my biggest mistake heads up.

I had AJo and had a good feel my hand was the best, but overbet the turn. A smaller bet would have let me find out where I was at without putting all my chips at risk, and I didn't feel I could call the turn push with seven outs at best.

The way he was playing, my AJo might have still been best. When he raised preflop and called my re-raise I put him on a hand range that's either including an ace or a king, or TT+. With his turn push I really put him on a King or Queen, but with his later play it could have been a much wider range.

Probably should have pushed the turn, if anything.

Edit: found the HH, reviewing my heads up play:
