There is a first time for everything ... wow.
Dear XXXX,
Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate you taking the time to report situation of alleged Disconnect Protection abuse at PartyPoker.com. Starting with the hand #XXXXXXXXXX that you sent to us, we performed an investigation that would allow us to examine thoroughly the account in question *runzpunz*.We have looked into the players records and collected all previous hands in which this player used the protection. Our goal was to look for a pattern where the player usually disconnects in key moments. Some of the parameters we use when investigating possible protection abuse: * The player's cards at the time of disconnection. * The player's previous action (whether he was betting / raising) and also the actions of the other players at the time of disconnection. * The benefit obtained by a player disconnecting * The timing of disconnection * A players pattern of disconnections Previous allegations made by other players and/or the system Using the information listed above we have investigated the history of the player thoroughly and have found that not only was the hand you reported suspicious but this player has shown a pattern of suspicious disconnects in the past. Based on this information we have taken away the disconnect protection privilege for this player. In the event he is disconnected in the future his hand will be folded. We have sent an email to the player informing him of the investigation. We thank you for taking the time to report your suspicions. Keeping the games honest is our highest priority. If you need any clarifications or have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to assist you. Contact us anytime, we are available around the clock to assist you with your account related questions and suggestions. Sincerely, Smita Investigations Team alerts@partypoker.com Edit: Here's the hand ... wow, i played against that guy yesterday at a 15/30 table and he did the exact same thing -- i didn't send an email based on that once abuse, but i guess it's clearly a pattern.

you might also try requesting compensation here.
worst they can do is say no (which would come in the form of them saying "you can do the IGMPAY bonus") |

yeah...they do actually check up on things. I've had 2 instances where I thought people were colluding at my table. Turned out one time it was morons who just play that bad. The other time, gotcha. 2 guys who played over 90% of the time at the same table, were geographically close to each other, and a tendency to play pots together in an unusual manner.

Waiting now for the "Everybody boycott Party Poker" thread, going off for 2000 words on how PP unfairly takes away people's DP and how they should be bending over backwards for players who have paid so much rake, started by runzpunz (Posts: 1)

Re: There is a first time for everything ... wow.
I LIKE IT!!
I've seen it only once in a Limit game where I thought the disconnect was fishy, but I didn't report it. I experieced a blatant disconnect abuse at a NL ring game where a guy disconnected in response to my big All-in bet into an already large pot. He had a flush draw and would have been getting odds to call, but by disconnecting he got to win the pot with no risk. I emailed Party and got a similar response, except in that case they said 'some' of his disconnects seemed fishy but not enough to take action against him.....yet. They did also say the part about how he would be notified he was 'under investigation'. I'd really like to see Party actually redistribute the players winning from those pots but I doubt that will ever happen. Either way it's encouraging to see that Party listens and investigates. Spread the word...take the couple minutes to report cheaters to Party and you CAN make a difference towards cleaning up the games. |

Re: There is a first time for everything ... wow.
The problem with redistributing funds in a situation like this is that it COULD just be bad luck. Let's say you disconnect on average every 5 hours (and that's a pretty good connection, believe it or not - if you're 8 tabling, that's 8 disconnections if you crash).
If you happen to have a straight draw each and every time you disconnect, that's not your fault is it? Many other statistically unlikely situations arise all the time, and it's the most improbable that get reported. I should also note that disconnecting with odds for a flush draw is -ev. |

[/ QUOTE ] This has been meantioned before and has also appeared in a Party reply. They do not take away previous winnings because there is a remote possibility that the guy really just has a screwed internet connection. They can't 100% prove that he is doing it on purpose so they will not take the money away. However, is a privilege and they can remove it at any time they wish. |
