How Often do You Find that You Folded the Best Hand?

I'm saying it was a multi-way pot that went to showdown and you folded somewhere in there... Or more seldom, HU and your opponent showed his holdings.

This happens very very rarely to me, and when it does i wanna puke all over my keyboard. I'm talking once a month here (50,000+ hands).

Is this a leak? Should I be taking my medicine much more often, 'cause the good folds will outweigh the bad?

Normally when you do it you have no idea you did it, cuz it's normally heads up on the river or turn.

I did it today and it burned the ever loving crap out of me. I have a KJs and flop is like J78 rainbow, next 2 cards are rags but people have been calling my bets, this time it gets bet and raised (on river) before it gets to me. I figure someone has an overpair they've attempted to slowplay or J/rag and has hit two pair, so I muck, guy wins with like a JT and I was like royalled ticked, 11 BB mistake.

As for frequency, ya it's pretty rare when you see you folded best hand, my last time was like oh maybe two weeks ago.

VERY rarely at 2/4 and under.

Much more often at 3/6 with one or more maniacs at table.

Every session at 5/10 where there are multiple maniacs. Hanging on to 2 pr on a str8t and flushed and paired board, with 2 guys willing to pay 4 bet cap on every street with TPWK is hard to swallow.

I actually folded a straight one night when I was getting see sawed between two guys after the board paired and flushed on the river. The turn had been capped. It was 2 bets to me and I folded. They both showed down top pair no kickers. I will never fold a str8t again...

Today I was playing $20/$40 fixed.

UTG raises, MP1 cold call, MP2 cold call, I 3 bet in the BB with Ts, UTG caps, MP1 and MP2 both come along.

Flop comes KQ7 rainbow

I check, UTG bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, I fold.

Turn KQ78 rainbow

UTG bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

River is KQ782

UTG checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks.

UTG has 9s.

I do believe rarely I fold the best hand. I doubt 1:50000 like you state, but rare enough. I'm not perfect and have made some bad folds before, but am getting better and better.

UTG bets hijack raises I fold

Turn and river blanks as UTG calls down the hijack

Hijack shows KJ and his pair of jacks is good (CSMF)

Unless I had a super read I'd do it all day long

A great player folds the best hand once in a while. It happens. It's rare that we get to find out about it.

Why in the world would you think that something that happens this infrequently could ever be considered a leak?

I think he means it's a leak that is getting to showdown with the second best hand too often.

It happens to me frequently when I dont have a solid read on my opponent. If I either havent been paying attention to them or they are new players they might be able to gain a lot of credit when they bet.
