the good old check-raise semi-bluff
villain is 22/6.6/1.8 over 80ish hands
the 3-bet on the flop tells me i'm likely behind (or facing a good draw), so when do i concede the hand and move on? Re: the good old check-raise semi-bluff
Thats not really a semi-bluff raise. If your read tells you that his flop 3 bet means you're behind, then fold the turn. Some villians might raise two big diamonds here but IMO it is much more likely that he has an overpair. Basically if you are folding anywhere it has to be the turn.

[/ QUOTE ] aybe you're just using a different definition than the rest of us. Semi-bluff is not a bet where you don't know where you stand. If your check-raise is called, your hand figures to be the best hand at the moment. This is very much a value check-raise because *most* of the time he has overcards and is very often drawing to 3 outs because you have him reverse dominated. |
