Default Foxwoods 20/40 need advice not sympathy

Fox woods 20/40 on Saturday . I am looking for some advice on starting hands . Am I playing to tight . example of a hand I played yesterday .
Folded to hero in Mp1 who raises with JJ
Folded to button who calls
BB calls
Flop 10, 6, 2 rainbow
BB bets hero raises
Button calls
BB calls
Turn card 7
BB checks
Hero bets
Button calls
BB folds
River 6
Hero checks
Button checks and shows 6/9 OS and takes pot
This was typical of what I run into down there on the weekends .
So my question is should start playing some of these hands that don’t even rate in group 5 that people seem to play and win with .Or do you just wait it out till the good hands hold up . I am new to 2+2 and fairly new 20/ 40 game only 6 sessions @ foxwoods so far with a total loss of $ 1200.00
Thank you in advance for your answers

SJG

If the clown you're playing against isn't going to bet trip 6s, he sure as heck isn't going to raise you. He'll also call your river bet with ANY pair so bet the river for value, just like TStone said.

And, keep playing tight, and stay aggressive. The clowns will win some hands like this, but in the end their money will be your's. Think about it this way, since you raised preflop, he probably put you on AK or AQ and never changed his "read" so he thought you were bluffing the whole way and was going to call you down anyway...he just got lucky.

hi sj

unfortunately, the opponents you describe will often drawout on you, but that's fine. do not make the mistake of trying to do the same. you will almost always be getting the best of it when opponents attempt to drawout, even if the short term swings can be severe. it's just one of those things. you've got to take it in the midsection. soon enough, they will run out of luck and you'll be racking again.
