Deep 1-3 flush hand
This is a hand from a deep 1-3 game. Max buy in is 500$.
I have 600, main villain has about 500. I get dealt 35d in the SB, two limpers, I complete. Flop (15$ or so) is Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Qx rag [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, villain (kind of weak tight, abc) bets 10. MP calls, I call. Turn is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, villain bets 25, MP folds, I CR to 80. Villain calls fairly quickly. River is the K, not a diamond. I bet out 50, he raises 100 more, I call. Any thoughts? |

Re: Deep 1-3 flush hand
did you consider check calling the river?

Re: Deep 1-3 flush hand
I considered it, I was certain he had a queen so I figured I would value bet. If anyone would have played it differently on the river was what I was wondering.

Re: Deep 1-3 flush hand
If he's weak tight then it's almost certain that he's not betting a flush draw on the flop so you know your hand is good unless hes got a boat. The river is an unpleasent card for you to see since KQ would not be a suprise however I think there is still a value bet to be made here as any Queen will call and a Q with a good kicker might raise. I'd be worried by the raise on the end but I'd still have to call.

Re: Deep 1-3 flush hand
I was worried by the raise on the end too but I wasn't folding to it, I could only fold if a 4th diamond came or the board paired.
results: he had kq, filled up on the river. I think I played the hand fine, I'm just posting one fairly consequential hand for every session I play now and this was the biggest pot I played. |
