I’m used to seeing “typical” maniacs around the 42/12 (VP$IP/PFR) range but it seems the past two or three weeks that there are a very large number of low limit games on Party that contain two super maniacs with numbers more like 52/19 ... guys who will 3 bet a check raiser with one overcard and no draws and continue to bet or raise the turn.
Anybody else notice this recent influx? Any explanation for it? Is there a new book out or some website giving out such lessons? I'm wondering if this is like when the Helmuth book came out and there were many players hammering 77 all the way. |

You'll probably be seeing a bunch of new super maniacs at the NL tables this week who will be playing off their $170 stickies.

I also noticed something similar, without having the exact numbers though. It also could be me on tilt btw.

I'm telling you guys -- something is in the air. Again tonight table after table with two or three players in the 50+ / high teens to low twenties ... and it ain't just StacysMom's bot doubling up.
And these people are bleeding money at an astounding rate. The ones I have over 100 hands on tend to be losing like half a small bet per hand. I want to know where they are learning to play. |

I just finished playing with a guy who was 70.6%/50.0%/2.71 over 200 hands, he even had WSD% of 47. Somehow he was up 13.6BB/100. Maybe there is something to this strategy....

Yep, I think you've hit it. The timing is perfect for college to be the answer. A bunch of freshman who "learned" to play by watching the final tables of no-limit tournaments on TV. Sounds right. I hope their daddys offer generous reloads.
