Tough hand, loose-passive table (QJs, SB)
Super loose-passive 1/2 table at Pacific. The table is just disgustingly bad, but I'm not getting cards.
6 limpers to me in the SB, and I raise with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB folds, everyone else calls. 7 to the flop for 15SB. Flop comes J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I bet, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 2 other callers, 2 people fold. 5 to the turn for 10BB. Turn comes 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I bet, 2 callers, two folds. River comes 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I bet, UTG calls, UTG+1 raises, I . . . Comments on the rest of the hand? Rob |

I will bet you $20 that he has a 3. Fold. Remember that he is raising you and a caller.

Re: Tough hand, loose-passive table (QJs, SB)
If the table is really passive, then I don't see why UTG would raise the river without the 3s. I'd have to say your behind here so I would just call.

Re: Tough hand, loose-passive table (QJs, SB)
Calling is standard. But if you have seen the rasier do this with as litle as a naked J, then I'd reraise. A lot of times when the board pairs on the end, really bad players perk up, thinking, "Hey Iv'e got 2 pair!" But they have to be really bad for this move, so raise jusdiciously.

Re: Tough hand, loose-passive table (QJs, SB)
It's true. I just watched someone do it on a table at Paradise. They forget that you still have a kicker with two pair.
I think you call on the river. But you un-check the 'muck losing hands' option, and you make him wait the maximum ammount of time before you muck to his 43o. NT |

Re: Tough hand, loose-passive table (QJs, SB)
Considering that you're first to act on the flop, I'd go for a check raise since you aren't going to protect your hand with such a big pot, nearly any hand has the odds to call one bet.
-edit- hmm, for 15 bets, nearly any hand will have the odds to call for 2 bets. so I think that you did fine by building the pot -edit- Though, you did say the table was very passive, so maybe the bet wouldn't come through and your bet out front to build the pot came through. I'm sure that UTG+1 has the 3, but for 16BB you have to call. |

Fold, protected pot, loose passive goofballs. You know what he has. Calling is just throwing $2 away, your better than that.
