Default 3/6 with bottom set

UTG has 450 and I have him covered. He hasn't done anything extraordinary in the few rounds we have played together.

He limps along with two MP players and I call on the button with 33.

Flop is 763 with the 76 of hearts. Pot is $36 and he leads for 45. Action on me.

In looking at his hand range, it seems like he would have 77/66(maybe even a scared 45) a large percentage of the time here. I wouldn't think he would overbet with a big draw. True or not true? What should I do on the flop?

Thanks,
Jason

Make it 180-200.

I'm curious what your guys plan is if he pushes. You have the worst reasonable hand that plays for all the money, and it's a limped pot.

I call.

Not sure if this is full ring or 6-max but,
45 is very unlikely to be limped w/ UTG IMO.

It may be true that bottom set is the worst reasonable hand that plays for all the money, but unknown villains dont always play reasonably.

An unkown villain who limped UTG and 3-bet could have 88,99,TT,JJ,QQ,KK,AA, 66, or 77 IMO. So I call.

if he pushes, I call...you're scared of 45, 66, and 77...but an overpair or 2-pair could push as well, as well as various combinations of straight and flush draws.

Even if he has 45, you still have outs...so 66 and 77 are the biggest worries, and given the range of hands someone could push with, I can justify calling.

This was a full game. Is this one of the situations where I have to go broke with bottom set? I can't fold(or call for that matter)to the initial flop bet because his leading range could be big(an overpair, A7, a gutshot, a flush draw, a straight draw). By the time I raise and am reraised, I am pretty much committed and realize I don't beat much that he will put all the chips in with. I guess there is no way to avoid this?

FWIW. He pushed and I said "aw crap, I call" and he showed 76s for top two. Still felt wrong though.

If he pushes, I call. Even in a full ring. This is not a time to muck a set imo.

I raise to around 150. I think a hand like 88,99,TT is more likely than a higher set or straight.

I see many pair + flush draws overbet here at 25NL to call the flop and look to get a lot in on the turn.

If you're not comfortable with making a turn raise on a blank may as well fold the flop. At 25NL I'm looking to get my money in on the flop or turn.
