Re: These hands are effing killing me.
For the 1st hand I advise a smaller preflop raise, to 800 or so. First, it might encourage a push who interprets your small raise as a sign of weakness, a push you will gladly call with a weak stack. Second, it still takes away pot odds from most implied odds hands, even in the blinds. Third, you will be able to make a much more intimidating Full Pot continuation bet instead of a half pot bet that you made which has a lower % of scaring a Villain away. And with the smaller preflop raise even after the continuation Full Pot flop bet you'll still be able to get away from a reraise with a stack that still has FE.
2nd hand is easy push. |

Re: These hands are effing killing me.
Why push with AKo with 12BB and only the blinds in? I want something like KQs or AQ to push over the top of my raise. I don't want to fold those hands out.

Re: These hands are effing killing me.
AQ prolly calls anyway. The problem is that you will often be called and be facing a situation with a big pot pf, not a lot behind, and the fact that you miss 2/3 flops.

Re: These hands are effing killing me.
I agree with pushing it in preflop. You don't have enough chips to make this raise and make a comprobable continuation bet, so you want to just win the small pot. Stealing blinds this big works for you.
