Say there are 3 limpers for 200 plus the blinds to act. I like to push for say 3000 with AK, AQ, JJ, or TT. I usually get called. People think the overbet is a steal and besides they don't want to fold.
I think it's funny people talk on this forum about pushing at limpers with J9s or some worse junk. That kind of thing only works at $100+ online or $200+ live buyin. At lower buyin people will often limp with strong hands and call a push. There were 7 players in a pot for 1400 total in a 5-table SNG on Stars I was just playing. I had ATs and 2400 and felt I had to push. Got called by QQ and AQo. QQ was the 4th limper in. |

I think it definitely depends on your level of play as you pointed out. Especially at low buy-ins stealing, restealing, punishing limpers isn't that important because it is more than made up for by the insane action you get. All you have to do is watch some $10 buy-in tournament hands and some $300 (or even lower). At the high buy-in it can sometimes be all stealing and positioning. At the low buy-in it's 6+ people to the flop every hand and then push push push with made hands (as well as lets see who can make the biggest bluff or slowplay with AA). One of my early mistakes was trying to force ignorant people to play more proper. It just doesn't work. If they want to see the flop, they are going to. About all they respect is all-in and not always even that.
