Didn't the other guy (Jason Mewes?) have heroin problems or something? Maybe that was part of the reason?

I like Jay and Silent Bob as much as the next guy, but he already made an entire movie that centered around them.

After a while, the bit would've gotten old.

I think the reason was that Kevin Smith is like 40 and it is getting kind of sad.

It was largely due to Jay's problems.

But they'll be back in Clerks II.
