Basic ROI questions
when calculating your MTT ROI, how do you account for tournaments that you won a seat in?
Is investment limited to the price of the sattelite? What do you do in the case of PP/FPP sats? |

Re: Basic ROI questions
ROI = Profit/Money put in
If you win a $1 sattelite to the WSOP and then win it, your ROI is (7.5 million - 1)/1 = 750 million %. PP and FPP tournies are basically freerolls (in a sense, you paid for them earlier with your rake, which should already be in your ROI), and should not change the denominator at all. The profit definitely counts though. |

Re: Basic ROI questions
no ur roi is what the buyin is, ur wrong. so if u play a 10k buyin and getin from 100$ u still use the 10k when doing the math

Re: Basic ROI questions
yea, you gotta count the satelite win just the same as $10,000. so your profit will still be massive (a total of 10,001 in buyins for 7,010,000 in winnings...

Re: Basic ROI questions
If I won the WSOP main event, I don't think I'd be too worried about what my ROI was

Re: Basic ROI questions
And I'm sure this has been done before too...
You hear people throw out optimal winning %s in cash games. "An excellent player can beat the $3/$6NL game for 10BB/100 hands." Is there such a thing for multi-tables? I'm basically curious because I'm way above what optimal would be in a very small sample size of 24 super tourneys. Thanks, -Ace |

Re: Basic ROI questions
well considering you WON one of those 24, you could have blanked in the other 23 and still have a sweet inflated ROI. Theres no standard ROI for good players in mtt's (atleast not that i've seen anyywhere) but 100-200% seems to be a normal range, though i think up to 400% or so is possible.
