Default Can\'t beat the live games...

Hi all,
I have been struggling lately with beating the B&M rooms. I have seen some fo the most pathetic play ever at these rooms, but still can't seem to take any money home. Raises in early position with pocket 3's, cold calling raises with T-5 suited, etc. I would love this situation if it were only a few players, but if the whole table plays this way the game becomes very difficult to beat.

I do quite well online, but I don't play the lowest available limits so the calibre of play is much better. Is it true that these 2/4 games are a crap shoot? Should I consider playing a slightly higher game or are there other adjustments I should make?

Moving to a higher stakes game is retarded...these low limit games are so ridiculously profitable its unbelievable. Read and reread SSHE and apply the concepts. If you can beat any online game, you should be able to dominate a B&M game. Just remember that the majority of these pots will be multiway so you need to play hands that thrive against a number of opponents (suited connectors, pocket pairs, suited aces). Best of luck

The rake at live 2/4 games is ridiculous. So much so that those games are difficult to beat.

Good point, I didnt even consider that, however, in my experiences at 2/4 and 3/6 the players are such morans that a solid player w/ good PF standards and "decent" postflop play should be able overcome the rake with ease...small sample size perhaps?

in general, moving up will not improve your BB/hr. good play eventually wins out.

Bad players are easy to beat, the rake is the only challenge below 3/5.

There are two problems with 2/4 or 3/6 B&M. The rake and variance. But the type of game your talking about is what makes them still worth playing.
