Default Game Theory

Anyone have a good entry level (but mathematical) on game theory to recomend? Something used to teach the first course on the subject at college level would probably be about right.

I have an Engineering background and so know fairly (or can freshen up) most elementary math such as calculus of one and several variables, basic probabilty and statistics, linear algebra, differential equations, basic complex analysis, basic transforms etc but obviously don't know the kind of advanced stuff that a math major would do.

Any one have a good book tip that would be suitable for me?

PS: I'm swedish and names of educational stuff is quite language and culture specific so some things may have been garbled in translation.

I did, but I couldn't find what I'm looking for. (I get a lot of hits, just not on the subject mater i'm interested in. Neither of the words game or theory are unique enough for that to suprise me...)

If you're not smart enough to use the search function, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to understand them but try
this. It seems to get recommended most often. Also Andy Bloch recommends game theory readings on his web site.

You have to get a grip regarding this obsession with scolding people about the Search function. The OP is right, you do a search on Game Theory you get a ton of non relevant posts. Are we supposed to spend all day on this?,.. some of us are busy at work.

Ok, so I put "Game Theory" in quotes and it actually worked pretty good. But in doing so, I found an old post of yours yelling at someone else to use the search function. lol

If I worked with you in an office, I'd want to be your friend...but only because I would consider you to be the type that would bring a shotgun to work.

Try and not let these repeat posts get under your skin. Several people probably benefit from a repeat post anyway.

Prisoner's Dilemna by William Poundstone is a good introductory book.

I hated the search function on this site at first, because if I searched for [game theory], I would get results like "fun games" and "poker theory topic" or whatnot. If you search for [+game +theory], then it will look for posts that have both words. And of course, like you said, the search ["game theory"] will return what you want as well.
