I like it. Villian may have picked up a draw on the turn and you may have conceivably snapped off a bluff.

Glad I played it right, because I lost some chips. Villain had ATs and was presumably afraid I had a higher kicker.

That's why I think you should have fired out on the flop. If he called, fire out even more on the turn and to a non scary river, push. He will have a really hard time calling with a hand like A10 and you could just aswell take it down on the turn.

I don't get it why people always check the flop with KK if an A flops.

If this guy limp/calls with AT, he will probably call whatever if an ace flops.

Betgo,

What range do you think he calls an open push on the river? Or a check-raise push?

Yeah, my standard line is my standard contiunation bet on the flop here. Why do you think that's a bad idea here? I'm just wondering, why you like this line better.

Lately I've been getting called a lot, then someone bets the turn hard, and I have to fold. I think I generally want to avoid this situation.

Atleast you try to take it down on the flop. You came out strong preflop and you come out strong postflop. If you just check worse hands than pair of aces will bet out on the turn.

Right, so if you bet the flop and he calls you, you look weak by checking the turn, if you bet the turn, he will also call you even if he won't like it.

You played it fine. The way you played it, you get more money from KJ, QJ, J10 because they will think you have a PP lower than JJ, and try to steal the pot on the turn.

However, what is the maximum bet you would have called on the river... You clearly didn't have an ace so someone could have bluffed you betting 750... Personnaly, 300 was the more I would have called...
