Default KKF -- do you wanna be a star?

Let me start off by saying that I do not wish KKF any ill will. If he continues to drum the 50-100 UB game, I will be happy for him. I'm sure that he is a better player than me.

All that being said, how many of you wonder whether his willingness to be the Board's current rock star (or at least his tacit acceptance of that status) is a bad idea in the long run?

While I'll freely admit that at times I find Kane's immaturity throughly annoying I think he's been a very valuable contributor and that his current high profile is actually a very good thing for those who understand the circumstances of his present success. What is especially valuable are his posts on short handed play at higher level NL games against skilled opponents which is a very under represented topic in posts and one that takes a great deal of skill to succeed at. A lot of the top posters who succeed at the 10/20 level and especially above slow down their rate of posting after achieving that success which Kane has not to our benefit.

That said, I hope that those who read his posts realize how different the metagame considerations are playing a 50/100 game HU vs trying to successfully be LAG in a 400NL 6 max game or trying to run over a rock garden 10/20 full table.

bad idea for who? why? If it boosts his ego, helps him play better and with more confidence while at the same time entertaining (some) of the posters here, then whatever. Personally I find it all mildly entertaining.

Is anyone else besides me worried that KKF is going to personally bankrupt Spirit Rock?
