Do you think that NLHE books will make online games bad ?
I have this thought. If Sklansky/Miller, Stewart Reuben, Harrington/Robertie public their books on NLHE avg player will learn. What is more many talented limit players who have no clue about NL will learn the game quickly because of new resources.
Do you think that will be the end of easy money harvesting in online nolimit holdem ? Best wishes |

No, because only a miniscule percentage of poker players actually put in the hours and effort to get better.

Yes, in exactly the same way that Small Stakes Hold 'Em completely ruined all the online low limit games.

[/ QUOTE ] Lol, good post. I think the good books/websites etc. will increase the average level of playing skill online, but not enough to be too worrisome. Of the players who read Harrington, lets say, only a relatively small percentage will read the books well, and a smaller percentage still will actually incorporate what they have read into their game. The rest will pick up some jargon to impress their friends. Frank |

Re: Do you think that NLHE books will make online games bad ?
Studying poker books well can be a lot of work. It's too easy for people to get lazy and allow their books to sit on a shelf unused. Even for those who actually bother to read an entire book, or more than an entire book, success is not guaranteed. In short, there's too many people who are unwilling to put in the effort to become good poker players. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
Also, there are a lot of books on limit hold'em, and there are probably more bad limit players than ever. For years, people have been able to purchase good books on limit hold'em, and many people continue to suck at the game of poker. |

There is a huge gap between possessing theoretical knowledge and applying it properly to the situation at hand.
