i thought about that, but button has high aggression factor, and between that and the probability of a continuation bet, i figured this was a good opportunity for a check-raise

I don't know if I like the 3-bet with TPTK. I'd much rather lead the flop. What is your plan if button calls? Playing in a big pot OOP with TPTK is yuck..

Edit: did not see that button mini-raised. Thought it was a real raise.

Big re-raise ... given that he has already re-raised the MP3 bet you have to give him some credit - I would say he has AK, AQ, KQ at least and possibly KK/QQ and perhaps 33 an just possibly KdJd - I can't see what else he would re-raise with... and the re-raise is not big enough to be a bluff.
