Yes. nh.
You want draws to call you (or better yet, fold). Only hands you're dominated by are sets, but there's nothing you can do about that. |

Re: ($22) KJo flopped top two pair -- is my push correct?
Thanks Horneacek. Is there ever time that I should worry about sets? Or are they such long odds that I'll lose more money over time trying to lay down to them?

Re: ($22) KJo flopped top two pair -- is my push correct?
I fold KJo preflop in this spot. You played it perfect on the flop. Difficult to say in general, but don't try to put somebody on a set and lay this down. More often than not they have top pair, two smaller pair og a draw.

surely you're not serious? how could anyone lay top two pair down in a $22 with no straight or flush out?

I would fold preflop.
Flop play is perfect. |

Re: ($22) KJo flopped top two pair -- is my push correct?
No I wasn't going to lay this hand down. My question is, when do you worry about sets on the flop? Or do you never worry about them and just eat it when they come.
Do you fold top-pair top-kicker to a reraiser thinking they may have two pair or a set? |

[ QUOTE ]
I would fold preflop. [/ QUOTE ] This is a very important concept I would like to emphasize to the lower limit SNG players. It seems like these trouble hands often are on the losing ends of eventual all-ins on these low limit tables, and should be avoided in the first 3-4 rounds completely. |

Re: ($22) KJo flopped top two pair -- is my push correct?
Yeah this thread is simple.
Issue #1: Calling UTG with KJo bad move but you made it soo.. Issue #2: Based on the action your push is excellent. Remember the gist of the fundamental theorem of poker is that your job is to bet the amount of money that makes it mathematically incorrect for them to call. Over time this means you make the most money. So charging these guys to chase their flushes by pushing all in was perfect. Straight Flushes, SAM |
