What is \"Donking?\"
I have seen this term come up quite a bit here but I am not sure exactly what it means?

Re: What is \"Donking?\"
A donkey is a person who plays badly. So, "donking" is playing badly. Players who are screwing around, say by straddling, often refer to themselves as "donking". I'm sure the 2+2 gathering at the MGM poker room last weekend featured a lot of donking.

Re: What is \"Donking?\"
As I see, being labeled a donkey is somewhat of an insult, similar to calling someone a sucker or a fish. Anyway, to donk would be the infinitive verb, so donking would be the gerund of to donk. Mike "the Mouth" M. has a great video on cardplayer of him at a table calling Barry G. (and the rest of the table) a bunch of donkeys. Actually, I believe he left Andy Bloch out of his comment.

[/ QUOTE ] It should be noted that donkey is typically a friendly insult and doesn't have quite the same derogatory connotation of sucker or fish. And yes, that Mike Matusow commentary was great. Re: What is \"Donking?\"
A donk bet is when you lead out betting when someone else has the initiative. Like if the button open raises and is called by the BB. Then the BB bets right into him on the flop - that's a donk bet. So maybe donking is the act of donk betting?
And my impression was that when someone calls another a donkey it's a more polite way of calling them an ass. Who knows though... |
